Improve Procrastination

Posted by

In today’s blog post, I would like to discuss an issue that I struggle with on a daily basis, procrastination. I’ve read different books and articles on the topic on ways to improve it and would like to share what I've learned. Listed below are 3 tips that will put you on the right track of overcoming the silent productive killer, procrastination.

1. Make a To-Do-List and stick to it!

Prioritize your list and do the hardest thing to accomplish on your list first and put it to bed. Give yourself a time limit goal for each task and put your head down and get it done! Go to a place where there aren't any distractions or loud noises. Limit coffee breaks as well to keep yourself on track.

2. Your brain is a muscle!

Did you know that if you practice pushing yourself every day , even a little, your willpower strengthens? It's true. Try it. Push yourself each day to do something you keep putting off, even if you work at it for only a short time. Write out a To-Do-List breaking down every hour of your day to see what times of day you are the most productive. Over time, your willpower muscles will strengthen, making you even more effective at getting things done.

3. One. Thing. At. A. Time.

We are only human and we are only able to do one thing at time. With each task accomplished, you will begin to feel a sense of accomplishment. If you have a huge project or a million things to get done before tomorrow, break it down into small, edible portions. Write your deadline on a piece of paper, then break down your contract into half-hour or hour long portions with numerous 15-minute to half-hour breaks or rewards sandwiched in. Before you know it, you will be taking that project off your to-do list.

I hope these 3 easy tricks will help you beat procrastination and help you be more productive in your daily life!
