Data Administrator Description:
Responsible for the installation, configuration, upgrading, administration, monitoring, maintenance and security of the database(s). Includes the development and design of database strategies, system monitoring, improving database performance and capacity planning for future expansion requirements.
Responsibilities:
- analyze and code data and structure requirements for timely delivery
- write, review, test and implement database scripts
- provide support to application developers
- review and approve application stored procedures and queries
- document structure and maintain data dictionaries
- maintain, build, backup and restore multiple DB2 databases
- analyze and prioritize performance issues with available tools
- participate in an on-call rotation to provide assigned project support and after-hours support
Required:
- 3+ years development experience with DB2 LUW, DB2 zOS
- administrative experience with DB2 LUW V10 or V11, DB2 zOS V11
- knowledge of SQL including XML, triggers, functions and stored procedures
- knowledge of DDL and DCL
- knowledge of utilities and database commands
- experience with Linux and AIX
Desired Skills:
- experience with Erwin or other data diagraming tools
- experience with database tools such as Toad, BMC, OEM, db2top
- experience with large OLTP databases or data warehouses
- some administrative/development experience with Oracle 11g
- experience with AIX and Unix scripting
- Mainframe database experience
